HOLY HOT Dallas Cowboy — as in FOOTBALL! I completely fell in love with Hunter, bad habits and all. And a strong single mom, like Quinn, giving it her best shot at making a good life for both herself and her child rank highly, too. Throw in a second chance romance that also tops my list of favorites, and that’s a TOUCHDOWN in my opinion. This new-to-me-author’s got game! Before I go any further, let me be clear that although I’m thrilled that our hero is a professional football player, this story is not overshadowed in any way by the sport. Yes, it plays an integral part in Hunter’s life. It’s his job and he loves it. But it is not what you expect from a sports-related romance. And readers certainly will appreciate enough well-played hot and steamy scenes to keep the fires burning that won’t disappoint. But once again, sex is not the main feature either. A heartbreakingly beautiful story of second chances, this one packs plenty of both heat and heart.
The book blurb gives a view of what’s to come without giving away the main events — and you won’t get any spoilers from me either.
The main characters . . .
Hunter Metcalf is sweet and sexy — and is a player on and off the football field. He was raised in a wealthy home. Hunter is both strong and vulnerable. And he lets fear guide his life. He loves deeply. But he won’t ever fall in love or have a family. He will, however, always be there for Quinn if and when she needs him.
Quinn is independent, strong and beautiful. She’s been through some hard times, but remains strong and brave. She’s both a fighter and a survivor. Struggling to make ends meet, she’d rather stand on her own than ask for help. And she has a feisty four-year-old daughter named Ava, and that’s a whole other can of worms.
It took a little time to get in sync with the unusual “backwards” timeline, but it was probably the best way possible to adequately get the story across with the maximum impact. I was certainly intrigued. There’s a real need to know and the answers just don’t come fast enough. The questions kept rolling through my mind asking how they met, who was Ava, what happened in the past that went so wrong, why were each of them involved with someone else, and was there anyway possible for this to work out.
The sadness is so real and the pain so evident. At times, things got a little tedious, and I felt like slugging them both for being so clueless. Different strokes for different folks, but sometimes you just gotta let go, jump in, and go for it, especially if you love and need someone so deeply. My heart was smashed to smithereens before finally being glued back together spectacularly. A memorable and moving balance of emotion, romance, angst and hope.
It’s hard to imagine anyone reading this book without a few tears. Finally getting the scoop on how they met and the reasons why they kept in touch through the years was enough to require a few Kleenex. And having dual POVs helped to gain insight into both their thoughts and feelings, adding depth and emotion to the story, as well.
When I finished, I sat back, closed my eyes, and took a deep relaxing breath, just to take it all in. Compelling, turbulent, and heady — every page kept me suspended awaiting the next revelation. This is a book to get lost in — one that will be hard to forget. For a steal at 99-cents, I got the full monty. A uniquely different, but beautiful, touching story with a bag brimming with unexpected surprises to the very end. A story that has it all and is not to be missed.

Too Much Ella Miles Books Reviews
It was ok but I don't think I'ld ever want to re read, as I do with some books
I seriously fell in love with this book! It is so good that I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend for someone looking to finish quickly
I really liked this book. It took a bit to get into the backwards timeline, but it works. I couldn't put this down, I stayed up until 3 to finish it!
Ella Miles made me cry, feel like throwing my kindle and then happy!
The format was really bad. It jumped back & forth & back even further. I really hate I purchased this
I didn't think it had much of a plot and so much use of the F word made hard to read. I actually couldn't finish reading it.
What beautiful book. While i'll admit it was a little bit hard to follow at first, I loved the final outcome. Quinn and Hunter definitely belong together. Because I do not do spoilers, that is all I'm going to say other than you need to read this book.
**Contains spoilers**
This is the first and last book I will read by this author. Terrible! I didn't mind the format, the story in reverse, but after reading 88% to finally get to the why's and how's, only to have the ending rushed and amicable and a downer. Hunter and Quinn texting each other when they what, need sex with one another? There is no HEA here, Ava is unequivocally going to die from some unknown illness that the author failed to disclose to the reader. The doctors told Quinn and Hunter to say their goodbyes even though they didn't know if she would have days, weeks or years to live. SERIOUSLY?!
Other things that didn't work for me
* Camille was so amenable about her off and on relationship with Hunter. #Doormat
* How convenient that everyone knew all the lies. Hunter knew that Ava didn't die at child birth; Sabrina knew she and Quinn were sisters; Ava knew that Hunter was her father, etc.
* I was somewhat confused as to whether Hunter knew all along that Quinn was Sabrina's sister, I may have skipped over this part. I assume Quinn knew about Hunter, because she had to know who the baby's father was...
* I was also somewhat confused about the convo that Hunter and Sabrina had about her dying and that he should pursue his career and, what, just pretend their baby died...and everyone is in on it. Where did the baby end up? Apparently in foster care. What no one in Sabrina's or Hunter's family wanted the baby. Did they all pretend the baby didn't exist? Evidently, Quinn was the only one who knew she didn't die, or did she? Are you effing kidding me?
* Callum left Quinn when he learned about Ava...what, he didn't know Quinn adopted Ava, or was it because she had some terminal disease? How convenient to leave the door open for Hunter.
*How about sharing with the reader how Sabrina and Quinn ended up separated (at what age) and in foster homes!!
Do not waste your time on this one! There is nothing redeemable about this story!
